A new Zafira generation will make its world debut at the International Motor Show in autumn. We can now bring you the first details of the Zafira Tourer, with its unparalleled sense of luxury.
The driver’s lounge The interior of the new Zafira Tourer combines many practical features in a generously-sized space. The ergonomic cockpit contributes to this, as does the FlexConsole – an enhanced version of the FlexRail system that Opel introduced as part of the new Meriva.
The figures speak for themselves: 2.2 million customers have opted for the Zafira since it was introduced on the market twelve years ago. In addition to the classic model, Opel will now offer a new generation of the versatile seven-seater: the Zafira Tourer. Combining functionality and comfort, the Zafira Tourer brings the best features of the flagship Insignia – including excellent quality, innovative technology and sculptured design – into this vehicle class. “The Zafira is Opel’s flexibility icon, and we wanted to bring more emotion and premium qualities into its third generation,” explains Mark Adams, Vice President of Design at Opel.
The engineers at Opel have once again considerably developed the clever Flex7 seating concept: the third row of seats can now be folded flush with the floor of the luggage area and the second row has been redesigned completely. Here, the traditional bench design has been replaced by three individual seats. Depending on the version, these seats can be moved fore and aft in a variety of ways.
There are far more innovations beyond this advanced flexible seating configuration: the whole appearance of the car is a clear step forward. A prestigious design, a spacious interior, an improved chassis and further technical developments facilitate a relaxed drive while ensuring the highest levels of comfort and safety.
